Healthy Homemade Pizza Crust
Yield: 2

Ingredients
  • 3½ – 4 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 2¼ teaspoons instant dry yeast (or one packet)
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1½ cups lukewarm water
  • 2 tablespoon olive oil (other oil will work as well)
  • additional flour for rolling out the dough
Instructions
  1. Combine the dry ingredients, starting with 3½ cups of flour in a large bowl or standing mixer. Add the water and oil, and mix until the dough forms into a ball. Add additional flour as needed until the dough just starts to no longer stick to the sides of the bowl. Knead until it forms a firm ball.
  2. Cover and let rise until doubled (45 min – 1 hour). Punch the dough down and divide into two equal portions.
  3. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees. On a lightly floured surface, roll the dough out to desired thickness (between ½ and ¼ inch thick). Let rest 10 minutes. Top as desired and bake for 18-22 minutes.
