Fluffy Whole Wheat Waffles

Ingredients
  • 1½ cup white whole wheat flour
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1½ teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1¾ cup whole milk
  • ¼ cup melted butter or vegetable oil
  • ¼ cup maple syrup
  • Maple syrup, for serving
Instructions
  1. Preheat waffle iron and spray with non-stick cooking spray.
  2. In a large bowl, combine whole wheat flour, all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon. Whisk to combine.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, melted butter, and maple syrup.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and whisk the batter until smooth and consistent. Pour the batter ¾ - 1 cup at a time into your Belgian waffle maker and cook according to manufacturer’s instructions.
  5. Place cooked waffles on a plate and place in the oven to keep them warm. Serve with fresh berries, butter, and maple syrup.
