You’ve probably heard of milk kefir before, but have you heard of water kefir? Milk kefir and water kefir are made in a relatively similar way, but the main difference is in the liquid you’re brewing the kefir in and the kefir grains themselves. As you’ve probably already guessed by now, to make water kefir, you have to use water as your base liquid. I’ve never made milk kefir before or drank the stuff, but I can tell you for a fact that water kefir is easy to make, absolutely delicious, and super healthy for you!
Simple Asian Sesame Noodles
We’ve been so busy lately visiting our relatives and doing family activities, and I find myself having a hard time getting dinner on the table in a timely manner. So I needed a dinner that I could make and get on the table in less than twenty minutes. And I’m probably not the only one in this boat…summer can get super busy, so a simple dinner that you can get table in less than twenty minutes is an absolute must! That’s why when I saw a recipe for sesame noodles yesterday, I knew it was at least worth a try.
Basil Pesto {Without Nuts}
Ask anyone in my house what their favorite lunch in the world is and without a doubt, they would answer your question with “pesto noodles” But they would kind of say it like “Um, duh, isn’t it everyone’s favorite?” Just my luck, they won’t eat pesto noodles if it’s made with pesto from the store. Even if it’s a health food store. Somehow, they can tell the difference. So, we always have to make our own. Not that I mind making it at home. I actually quite enjoy it and the amazing aroma that lingers around my kitchen all afternoon when I make it.
Easy Homemade Lemonade
There’s nothing quite as refreshing as a nice, cool glass of homemade lemonade on a hot summer day. And I think you know what I mean. Lemonade brings back memories for me. Memories of squeezing lemon after lemon after lemon and accidentally pouring in too much sugar too many times to count. And mom saying you can only have one glass of lemonade and after that you have to have water with your dinner. After all these years of drinking lemonade made with real lemons, when I drink lemonade made of powder or bottled lemon juice at a relative’s house, I can really taste the difference. Sure, making lemonade out of the over-sweetened lemonade powder is inexpensive, but when it comes to taste and quality, the proof is in the pudding. You can’t convince me that there’s anything better than homemade lemonade made from real (organic) lemons!
Easy Slow Cooker Pulled Pork
I am not one to eat meat on a regular basis. In fact, we use meat sparingly in my house, partly due to how expensive the meat we buy is, and also because we don’t feel it necessary to eat large amount of meat. But occasionally, we’ll splurge and have ourselves a meat-based meal. Case in point: this pulled pork. Now, I’ve only had pulled pork a few times during my years, but I remember it being one of the best things I have even eaten. So, naturally, when we purchased some pork shoulder last week, my first thought was pulled pork.
