Update: Giveaway has been extended to the March 7th so that you can have even more chances to enter and be the big winner!
I drink tea everyday. Every morning and every night. And when I do, I usually drink tea I make myself or Tazo Tea. I’m sure you’re wondering how this doesn’t become boring. Well, my dear friends, this is how.
Introducing: Turmeric and Ginger Tea. (AKA: the reason I don’t have as much inflammation problems…)
I really love this tea. And I mean really, really love it. This tea is just what I need to wake me up in the mornings. I rarely drink coffee anymore (not that I don’t looove coffee). It is super refreshing, perfectly spicy, and extremely tasty. Not to mention how healthy it is for you.
And it contains zero processed ingredients? Girl, you better get out.
Now.
What is so healthy about turmeric?
Turmeric, the bright yellow of the spice rainbow, is a powerful medicine that has long been used in the Chinese and Indian systems of medicine as an anti-inflammatory agent to treat a wide variety of conditions, including flatulence, jaundice, menstrual difficulties, bloody urine, hemorrhage, toothache, bruises, chest pain, and colic. What about ginger?
Historically, ginger has a long tradition of being very effective in alleviating symptoms of gastrointestinal distress. In herbal medicine, ginger is regarded as an excellent carminative (a substance which promotes the elimination of intestinal gas) and intestinal spasmolytic (a substance which relaxes and soothes the intestinal tract). Modern scientific research has revealed that ginger possesses numerous therapeutic properties including antioxidant effects, an ability to inhibit the formation of inflammatory compounds, and direct anti-inflammatory effects. Here’s the recipe:
- 4 cups water
- 1 tablespoon shredded ginger root
- 1 teaspoon shredded turmeric root
- In a saucepan, add the water. Set it on the stove to high heat. Put the shredded ginger and turmeric in a food sieve that can rest on the edge of the pan. Make sure the water can reach the roots.
- Bring to a boil and let it boil for 5 minutes. Remove the sieve from the pan and throw away the root shreds. Serve the tea while hot. Sweeten with honey or agave syrup to taste.
One lucky winner will be the proud owner of 6 packs of Tazo Tea (20 tea bags in each box) and a cool blue tea tumbler that comes with a tea infuser/strainer. The winner will be announced and emailed Saturday morning.
What you’ll be winning:
The Tazo Tea: Tea Flavors include: Zen, Passion, Calm Chamomile, Earl Grey, Awake English Breakfast, and Organic Chai
The Tumbler: Take your hot tea on the go with this 13.5 ounce tumbler. The stainless steel, double vacuum wall design ensures your beverage stays hot. Tumbler features tea steeper inside.
And here we go! My first ever giveaway (possibly of many).
Enjoy and don’t forget to share.
By the way, if you claim to do these things, but don’t actually do them, I can check to see who’s actually doing them and who’s not and remove the false entries. I don’t mean to be pushy, but I want to ensure that the prize goes to someone who actually did what they were supposed to do. For all the ones playing fair, a big thanks from yours truly.

I eat everything. I’m a total foodie. I try to buy mostly organic, and eat healthy, but I’m not perfect. The hubs and I are going to start a sort of Paleo/GAPS hybrid in March. I have a pretty bad gluten intolerance, and I’m hoping this will start the healing process.
