Simply 7 Lentil Chips Review

When I received a case of chips from Simply 7, I was slightly overwhelmed by all of the different flavors and types of chips. The three types of chips they sent me were quinoa, lentil, and hummus chips—all with unique and delicious flavors of their own. I told you my thoughts on the super-amazing quinoa chips. You can check that out here.

But today I’ll be sharing with you what the Official Taste Testers thought about the 4 flavors of lentil chips in today’s Official Chip Tasting Ceremony.

A quick disclosure: I DID receive free product from Simply 7 after contacting them and letting them know how much I enjoyed their chips. All opinions and borderline obsessions are 110% my own, as always.

So, I know what you’re thinking.

Lentil. Chips.

But I swear, after one bite you’ll notice that it taste just like a regular chip. Except probably a little tastier.

And I can say, with all honesty, that this variety of chip was my favorite. Hands down. Get in my bellaaay!

Sorry about that last part.

The four flavors of lentil chips that I received were Sea Salt, Bruschetta, Creamy Dill, and Jalapeño.

I really didn’t think I would like the Bruschetta chips because I’ve never tried actually bruschetta (thinking it didn’t taste good). But I put on my big girl pants and tried them for the sake of telling you what I thought about it.

Naturally, I knew I was going to love the Jalapeño chips because, uh, spicy=YUM!

Here’s the breakdown of what the Official Taste Testers thought of each flavor of chip.

SEA SALT:

Can’t beat a classic. It definitely wasn’t loaded with flavor, but it tasted pretty neutral, making it the perfect candidate for dipping. I tried dipping this in some homemade queso and it was soooo delicious. Anytime I need a dipping chip, I’ll reach for these sea salt lentil chips.

BRUSCHETTA:

Remember when I said I thought I wasn’t going to like these. WHAT WAS I THINKING!?!? I barely got the chip in my mouth before my taste buds starting exploding. Holy moly these chips are delicious. Perfect snacking chip right here.

CREAMY DILL:

The Official Taste Testers have always been big fans of dill anything, but not many of them enjoyed this flavor. It was pretty refreshing and it had a nice creamy flavor, but it was also a little tangy, and they didn’t really enjoy the combo. Conclusion: 3.1 stars.

JALAPENO:

The moment I’ve been waiting for. You guys, these chips are out of this world. It was all I could do to keep The Official Taste Testers from reaching in the bag and grabbing a fistful.

Seriously, if you want to eat something that will make you do a (enormous) happy dance, eat these Jalapeño lentil chips. I’m stocking up on these babies on my next trip to the store.

Like I said in my last review, the main thing I like about these chips is that they contain no artificial colors or flavors, preservatives, or trans fats. And you can’t beat the convenience. A healthy snack that can be eaten with no preparation—NOW that’s something I need every day of the week.

The only thing I can think to compare these amazing chips to are berries. Full of nutrients, none of the bad stuff, and you can just pop them in your mouth for an easy snack.

I’ll admit, I was getting a little teary when I could see the bottom of the Bruschetta chip bag. And I don’t know how I’ll manage another day without eating another Jalapeño chip. But I think you guys are going to seriously love these chips.
