I’ve eaten a lot of pie in my day.

But my favorite kind of pie has always been sweet potato pie. And after harvesting so many sweet potatoes from our garden this year, this sweet potato pie has been the only thing on my mind.

I mean, we’ve already made sweet potato bites, fries, tacos, casseroles, salad, and so many other things. But everyone knows it’s all about the pie.

And isn’t that pie pan pretty!

This may be the best popcorn I’ve ever tasted.

Sure, that Dorito flavored popcorn was delicious, but sometimes the flavor can be a bit overwhelming. Something with that much spice, salt, and heat does that. But the mild, sweet-and-salty flavor of this coconut oil kettle corn is perfectly balanced and not at all overwhelming.

To be honest, I’ve never actually thought to use coconut oil to make popcorn. I’ve always just used sunflower oil or safflower oil. But I figured since we we’re going for sweet, we might as well use coconut oil!

I used to think that if anyone made pie crust, they had better make it with all-purpose flour and shortening.

If they were brave enough to even do that.

But as I’m venturing into mostly whole wheat baking, I’m finding that the rumors I heard about whole wheat flour were totally wrong. Whole Wheat baked goods CAN be tender, moist, fluffy, flaky, and incredibly delicious.

I don’t consider myself a very great cook.

I’m a great baker (not to toot my own horn), but when it comes to cooking a meal with more than 10 ingredients, I start to panic and lose my mind.

Surely you know what I mean. Cooking can be pretty intimidating at times. Especially if you didn’t inherit your mom’s cooking genes.

That’s why I love these smoked Gouda veggie quesadillas. You don’t have to be the most experienced cook to whip out an amazing meal in less than 15 minutes. If that were the case, we’d be in a lot of trouble.

The Ultimate Foodie Gift Guide

The Ultimate Foodie Gift Guide | Natural Chow

The holiday season is my favorite time of the year! There’s so much good food, so much time spent with family, and, of course, there’s so many gifts to give. So today I decided to switch things up and share a list of gift ideas for the all the foodies out there. Foodies are pretty easy to buy for, considering we would love to own just about everything in the Kitchen & Dining department of Amazon.

Most of the items on this list cost less than $100, so you can give a gift that you know they’ll love AND that’s affordable.

One of the best gifts for a foodie is a thoughtfully curated gift basket. Whether you’re looking to impress a home chef, a coffee lover, or someone with a sweet tooth, a gift basket is a versatile option that allows you to combine a variety of treats in one beautifully packaged bundle. From artisanal cheeses and gourmet snacks to specialty spices and handcrafted chocolates, the possibilities are endless. Plus, with Gift Basket Delivery services, you can easily send these delicious surprises straight to their doorstep, making it a convenient option for long-distance loved ones or last-minute shoppers.

If you’re not sure what to include, consider tailoring the basket to their specific tastes. For instance, a pasta lover would appreciate high-quality olive oil, artisanal pasta, and a gourmet sauce. A tea enthusiast would swoon over a selection of loose-leaf teas, a cute infuser, and some tasty biscuits to pair with their brew. The best part? You can find pre-made gift baskets online, or you can assemble one yourself for a more personal touch. Either way, it’s a gift that’s sure to leave them smiling (and snacking) all season long.
