I can’t be the only one who’s constantly struggling with cravings. Especially cravings that strike in the middle of the night like a ninja. Lately, I’ve gotten really close with the oh-so popular midnight snack. 

But I often find myself feeling guilty for it later. And, you guys, I don’t dig guilt. So I thought today I would share with you 4 ways to curb late night cravings! 

I don’t want to you to feel overwhelmed by all this, so if taking this is small steps (or baby steps, if you will) is easier for you then I’d much rather you do that then burn yourself out trying to gain self-control overnight. Because I can tell you from experience that it just won’t happen.

So without further ado, here’s a few simple ways to get rid of those late night cravings!

LONG-TERM

#1) Skip the artificial sweeteners

Not only do artificial sweeteners taste awful in comparison to natural sweeteners, but it’s actually proven that they might be what’s causing the cravings.

Foods that use sucralose or other artificial ingredients as they’re primary source of sweetener might not trigger that full feeling you get from eating real food, so it’s best to stay away from those if you want to get rid of cravings.

#2) Purge your pantry

The first step to nipping cravings in the bud is to get rid of unhealthy foods in your home that might be calling out to your sweet tooth in the late hours of the night. 

This is also a chance to throw away any artificial sweetener-laden foods!

 

SHORT-TERM

#3) Drink some tea

Drinking tea can help to cut back on cravings, especially if you sweeten the tea a little. I recommend a natural sweetener like pure cane sugar or honey! One of my favorite teas right now is this Iced Mint-Raspberry Tea with Chia Seeds. It has been a lifesaver for me lately and it’s also incredibly tasty!

#4) Indulge in a healthy treat

Okay, confession time—you guys know I’m obsessed with chocolate. So anything with chocolate it the title is a automatic win in my book.
