This pumpkin spice coffee creamer is the easiest way to enjoy the flavors of fall without all the extra sugar of a pumpkin spice latte.
Autumn is arguably the best season ever.
It’s not “kill me I’m melting” hot and it isn’t “I can’t feel my toes” freezing. The leaves on the trees are changing from green to vibrant shades of red and orange and yellow. And, of course, it’s the perfect time of year to carry around a warm mug or thermos of coffee.
I’ve always been a huge coffee drinker. But after a while I got tired of overspending on Starbucks and the coffee creamer sold in stores started to taste a little too artificial and sweet for my liking. So I switched to making my own coffee creamers and saving loads of $$$.
One of the many reasons why I make my own coffee creamer is because it’s SO easy. Mix a couple of ingredients together in a jar, give it a good shake, and BOOM—suddenly you have some of the world’s most heavenly coffee creamer ready to be poured into your coffee.
It’s life changing, I’m telling ya.
Believe it or not, I used to hate the taste of cinnamon in my coffee. Absolutely hated it. But I’ve come to love the sweet and spicy notes it brings to my coffee, so even if I’m just enjoying a cup of coffee with cream and sugar, I’ll still add in a dash of cinnamon for an extra kick.
Another reason why I love making my own coffee creamer is because I get to control what ingredients go into it. I get to customize it and make it my own.
Also, whipped cream on coffee is a must and anyone who disagrees, well…we can’t be friends.
You guys have GOTTA give this pumpkin spice coffee creamer a try! It only takes five minutes to make and is the perfect fall beverage.
Here’s the recipe:
- 2 cups half and half (or 1 cup whole milk + 1 cup heavy cream)
- ⅓ cup maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ¾ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
- a pinch of ground cloves
- 2 tablespoons pure pumpkin puree
- In a quart jar, combine the half and half, maple syrup, and vanilla extract and stir. Add in the cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and pumpkin puree and shake to combine.
- Place the jar in the fridge to chill. Creamer will stay fresh for about 10 days.
