My Top 5 Ways to Relieve Stress | Learn my best kept secrets for handling stress naturally! | Natural Chow

Because life happens, I find it VERY necessary to have ways to handle my stress naturally.

Wanna hear how the last couple of days have been? Of course ya do.

So, my dad was supposed to fly to Phoenix (from Augusta) on March 7th. Of course my crazy family was a day ahead and thought “Oh! It’s time to go drive for an hour and a half before Dad gets on the plane.” Well, we get there, he walks up to the front desk, and we are promptly told that his flight is the next day.

I mean, you have GOT to be kidding me!!! One and a half hours of driving just to find out that his flight isn’t until tomorrow. Not to mention that we had to drive all the way back home and do it ALL over again the next day. UGH.

In the end, he got on his flight (he missed his connecting flight, but whatever), and safely arrived in Phoenix the next day.

See? Life happens. And you can bet I was practicing natural ways to relieve stress on those days. Whew!

However, it’s crucial to recognize that, in certain situations, individuals may turn to unhealthy coping mechanisms, including substance use, as a way to navigate overwhelming stress. In instances where stress and its effects on mental health may contribute to substance abuse, exploring rehabilitation options is paramount. Initiatives like rehab near me can provide individuals with access to professional assistance, offering comprehensive programs that address both the root causes of stress and potential substance use concerns.

So today, I wanted to share with you my top 5 ways to handle stress (because, let’s be honest—a spoonful of chocolate peanut butter can help you de-stress, but it’s not in my top 5…sorry buddy)!

1) Exercise:

Believe it or not, exercising is a GREAT way to relieve stress. There are just times when I’m too frustrated to move forward and put up with anyone—those are the times when I walk to my room and bust out the push-ups, sit-ups, and lunges. And I might even throw a few kicks in there just to be on the safe side.

Exercising really gets your blood pumping and puts any aggression you have to good use!

2) Know your limits:

One of the quickest ways for me to get burnt out is to see a bajillion and twelve things on my to-do list and try to get them all done is 3 hours. Yeah, not gonna happen.

Set time limits for tasks to make sure you get everything done. That way you can be productive without getting stressed. Don’t do anything unfamiliar and dangerous, don’t fall prey to substance abuse and then you might have to go to a place like the drug rehab new york.

3) Create or clean something:

With high amounts of stress came a need to pick up a creative hobby, like design. I LOVE design. I live for it. And when I’m stressed out, a creative hobby is exactly what I need to reduce my frustration and stress level. I also like to clean when I’m stressed out. Partly because a dirty room stresses the heck out of me (OCD much?), and partly because it gives my brain something to do. Something that I can control and make right without mass amounts of frustration.

4) Prayer:

There’s nothing like asking God for help when you need to be lifted up. A little time with the Lord really resets my attitude, and depletes me of any negative energy I have. If you’re feeling stressed, you can also ask others pray for you, like family and friends.

5) RESCUE Pastilles:

I saved the best for last. A few months ago, my sister introduced me to RESCUE Pastilles, and since then, I’ve always had some with me—in my purse, on my desk, and on my nightstand. All you have to do is pop one in your mouth and chew! Not only are they pretty tasty, but they ACTUALLY work!

I’ll admit I was a little skeptical at first—a natural, tasty way to relieve stress. I didn’t think something like that existed. But, boy, was I wrong.

RESCUE Pastilles help you stress less, stay calm and in control. They’re a natural/homeopathic remedy for relieving stress and getting through your frustrations. AND—fun fact—they were developed by a doctor, so they’re super safe and you don’t have to worry that you’ll become addicted.

They’re also really convenient and easy to take! RESCUE has other forms of the stress-relieving formula: RESCUE Sleep Liquid Melts, RESCUE Pearls, and more.

RESCUE stress relief products are available now in the US at CVS, Walgreens, Whole Foods, Sprouts and wherever you find natural products! I get mine at Whole Foods in the Beauty/Vitamins area. (And I was actually able to get mine on sale, so I figured “Why not buy two?”)

Hi, Margaret Anne. I had to laugh when I read your story only because we have done the same thing. Not the airport but wrong day for an appointment, with the wrong person and on and on. You just have to laugh and go on about things. Your family sounds wonderful and very supportive. Thanks for reminding me about the Bach products. I haven’t used them for some time and need to try them again. Love your blog.

Haha, thanks so much for the comforting words. That weekend was HECTIC. Glad to know I’m not the only one who has completely screwed up a situation. Thanks for following along Sandi. :)

I love that photo of the plane flying over the skyscrapers. Great shot! Yes stress is a part of every day living and the things that you have mentioned worked great for me. You know those little pastilles they market them in HK for sore throat, different brand… but same ingredients. I think they might be good for both stress and sore throat. Have a super weekend!

I do almost exactly all the same things when stressed. I agree with them all. :) Although I might do yoga instead of lunges. ;) Pastilles sound interesting. Stopping by from Friendship Friday. Have a great weekend!
