Lately, I’ve been doing little things here and there to boost my health.

Like for instance I’ve started doing daily exercise to keep myself in shape and clear my head. Another thing I LOVE doing to boost my health is making smoothies. Especially super delicious smoothies that are packed with enough nutrients to help me jump start my day.

I used to have a coffee maker on my kitchen counter, but now I’ve got my blender in its place—I found a better way to get energy in the mornings!

Smooooothies.

I’m sure I’m not the first one to realize that smoothies are energy-packed flavor bombs. But the idea is totally revolutionary, you guys.

While I was on vacay last week, you can bet I spent a few nights staying up a little later than I’m used to. 

And of course, with less sleep, I always woke up late and still felt groggy. So every morning, coffee was a necessity. But the thing is, there was a big bottle of french vanilla coffee creamer sitting in that fridge just waiting to be used (spoiler alert: I used it). I hadn’t ever realized that coffee creamer is such a convenience. 

I mean, you don’t have to add sugar (or what ever sweetener you fancy) into your coffee until it tastes just right, or risk adding too much sweetener and then the whole thing is just a sugar bomb.

It’s not CRAZY convenient, like canned ravioli or something, but it’s convenient enough to the point where I realized I needed it in my life. Just without all the corn syrup, hydrogenated oils, and artificial flavors.

It’s been QUITE a while since I last shared a recipe, and I apologize for such a hiatus. But this girl needed a vacay. BIG TIME.

Now, you guys know I loooove granola. With a passion. It’s like cereal but 8,000x better. Seriously. But why should you love homemade granola, you ask? 

Well, for starters, since you’re making it at home, you can control the ingredients that go into. Meaning you can leave out all of the yucky preservatives, dyes, and artificial ingredients that do your body no good. It also means that you can change it up HOWEVER you’d like. Don’t like almonds? Leave ‘em out or swap them with another nut. Don’t have maple syrup? Sub in honey! 

And that’s just the icing on the cake, in a manner of speaking.

So, a long, long time ago, I shared with you a recipe for easy homemade bagels. Turns out you guys loved the heck out of it despite the god awful pictures included in the post.

To date, it is in my top ten most popular posts. And it still has crappy pictures. So today, I decided to do that amazing bagel recipe justice with new pictures, more explanation of HOW to make them, and improved recipe instructions. And I’ve even got a little video down there from the Maria Alison from Ten at the Table (also my sister) that shows EXACTLY how to shape the bagels.

Shaping the bagels was BY FAR the biggest question I’ve gotten regarding the recipe.

Maple Cinnamon Sweet Potato Bites

Not too long ago I shared a recipe for sweet potato fries, and while I was making them, a brilliant idea popped into my head…

“Cinnamon roll flavored sweet potato fries”

Of course, whilst cutting the sweet potatoes I changed my mind and decided to make them bites. I also decided that instead of coating them with olive oil (because cinnamon and olive oil don’t go together), I’d use melted butter. Ooh, yes.

Because, when in doubt, add butter. Honestly, it isn’t that much added calories and it makes it taste 20x better. TRUTH.
